Simon Brooker is the Executive Director of Corporate and Project Finance at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). He has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking and investment management. He joined the CEFC at the commencement of its operations in April 2013. Simon has had lead responsibility for a number of CEFC’s major renewable energy investments, which have been some of the most significant transactions in the Australian market in recent years. These include Moree Solar Farm, refinancing of Macarthur Wind Farm and two of CEFC’s recently announced solar PPA and leasing program transactions with SunEdison and Tindo Solar. Prior to taking up his role with CEFC, Simon held senior roles with Transfield Holdings where he focused on Transfield’s investment interests in social infrastructure and renewable energy. Before joining Transfield, Simon worked for 14 years in investment banking at Macquarie Bank and Bankers Trust, leading a variety of asset based financing, structured finance and infrastructure financing transactions in Australasia, Europe and North America. Simon began his career as a lawyer with Russell McVeagh in their Auckland tax and banking teams. Simon has a Bachelor of Commerce and an LLB from the University of Auckland.
